Meet Dr. Maspons
Dr. Aldo Maspóns was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. His family has resided in the El Paso/Juárez area for over a century. He was raised by his mother, and as a child he worked with his grandfather to design, install, and maintain neon signs. He attended St. Pius and Cathedral High School and, later, Santa Clara University, where he trained in the Jesuit tradition and earned undergraduate degrees in studio art and biology. He was the first in his family to graduate from college.
Dr. Maspóns earned his medical degree at the internationally renowned medical school University of Texas Southwestern Dallas (UTSW). While at UTSW, he trained at the prestigious Parkland Hospital and Children’s Hospital-Dallas, and that’s where his love for stamping-out disease was grew strong. He did his residency in Pediatrics at the University of New Mexico and his specialty training in Pediatric Gastroenterology at Baylor College of Medicine Houston/Texas Children’s Hospital, the largest children’s hospital in the United States, ranked second nationally in the field of gastroenterology by US News and World Report.
He returned home to El Paso in 2012 to serve his community as a Pediatric Gastroenterologist, with the goal of improving patient care and outcomes in the community. He is Co-founder/CEO of VeMiDoc, a medical technology startup aimed at modernizing the patient-physician relationship by focusing on improving medical outcomes. He is team player who views Maspons Pediatric Gastro as one component of a bigger team that helps care for your child.

El Dr. Aldo Maspóns nació y creció en El Paso, Texas. Su familia ha residido en el área de El Paso / Juárez durante más de un siglo. Fue criado por su madre, y de niño trabajó con su abuelo para diseñar, instalar y mantener letreros de neón. Asistió a la escuela secundaria St. Pius and Cathedral y, más tarde, a la Universidad de Santa Clara, donde se formó en la tradición jesuita y obtuvo títulos universitarios en estudio de arte y biología. Fue el primero en su familia en graduarse de la universidad.
